How much variation should I expect?

With Architect’s Palette you will see a slight textural variation but no color variation in the glaze.

They fall under the definition of V1 T2 in our Tile Variation Guide which states:

Color Variation-

V1: no variation. a small percentage of the types of tiles that we carry will exhibit no

variation within the same production lots. an example of this is our white gloss subway

tile, which is machine-made and results in a consistent look from tile to tile.

Texture Variation-

T2: light texture: production will result in slight physical variation in the surfaces of the

tiles. overall there will be uniformity upon installation.

Can I order a customized size or color?

We do not currently offer customization for Architect’s Palette but inquiries are accepted.

What colors do you stock?

We currently stock architects palette in Blotter, Blueprint, Trace, and Overlay

What shapes do you offer?

We offer a nominal 2”x12” rectangle

What is the thickness of Architect’s Palette tile?

The thickness of architects palette is a nominal 5/8”

How much is a sample?

Architects Palette samples are $5.

How long does it take to get my tiles?

In stock Architects Palette tiles ship within 10 business days. At this time, there is limited stock

availability.

Where do you recommend installing Architect’s Palette?

Architect’s Palette is great for almost any application and downright perfect for a kitchen

backsplash, shower walls, fireplace exteriors, feature wall, powder room, entry hall, etc... Please

limit floor usage to light residential and outdoor use to locations not affected by freeze thaw.

What color grout should I use?

We recommend Mapei’s Ultracolor Plus FA in the shade Timberwolf. You may use lighter or

darker grout colors based on your projects needs.

What size grout joint should I use?

At clé, we like to always recommend the smallest grout joint possible for a tile installation. With

that in mind, we like to suggest 1/4" grout joint for our Architect's Palette collection. But, there are

those who might prefer a larger joint size for a more pronounced texture on certain pattern

designs, such as herringbone.

Do I need to seal Architect’s Palette tiles?

For the majority of applications, Architect’s Palette tile does not need to be sealed.

Do you have additional installation information?

Installation methods should conform to the tile council of america “Handbook for Ceramic Tile

Installation” (current edition). Tiles from several different cartons should be mixed to achieve the

best overall blend. Other systems are available and the manufacturer’s recommendations should

be followed.
